Julia’s personal story is an interesting and unbelievable one… her dental story is very typical of what we see of dentistry from people who have received care in Russia. When I met Julia many years ago she was a college student from Boston University. Originally from St. Petersburg she was discovered by a wealth family travelling in Russia where she was a tour guide. This family was captivated by her personality and offered to sponsor her education in the United States. Soon after her arrival she developed tooth pain, and ended up in my care as a referral from a dental colleague. The family who sponsored her instructed me to treat her as I would their own daughter, and fix her teeth completely.

Dentally her case has required many procedures including crowns, fillings, and an implant replacing and restoring the work that had previously been done in her mouth. (Often in countries such as Russia the care and prevention is less modern and material of lesser quality are used, which is not to imply that the dentists do not try their best with what they have available.) Lastly we whitened her teeth… completely restoring her to health and beauty.
